Hi, this work has been carried out 2 years ago. but, I just have time to write about it.. actually, the starter motor problem start when its took several time to crank the engine before engine able start. Figure 1: Starter motor Its became worst when it took longer for me to start the engine. And I am not able to crank the engine anymore after sometimes. Thats when I realised that my iswara LMST starter motor has gone dead.  Though, I still managed to start the car using jump start (this means that everything else is OK apart from starter motor problem) Below is how work is done.. you can save a lot by doing it yourself. Plus, will boost your confident and knowledge about your car. Hi, changing gearbox oil is quite an easy work for proton iswara lmst manual transmission. Figure 1: Proton Iswara LMST Usually, we need to replace gearbox oil for every 30000km, this is recommended distance.. However, in my case, I change my gearbox oil for every 2-3 engine oil change depending on how i drive the car. Hi all, has anyone facing the same problem as me..? Difficult to start the car..sometimes it give tack tack tack sound..sometimes, just empty sound when key is turn..it is quite annoying when you know you have new starter motor, good battery. In my case, I have changed the starter motor to new before ..but, the problem still persist..problem still there...so, I suspect..there is something else.. Asking around, I realize that there is not enough current to starter motor to crank the engine..problem are rarely happen, but quite annoying and too much for me. Hi all, Since 15 year ago after own my 1st vehicle..I kept doing my vehicle service myself and usually spending the service or repair work during the weekend..I like to spend 1-2 hours time in the morning or evening to check car condition and doing the service myself if possible. Usually, in my case, I always maintained the duration for changing the engine oil (EO) within the recommended period/distance.. For example, for this proton, I used Petronas semi synthetic 10w40 engine and this type of engine oil can go up to 7500km or 1 year (though Petronas EO still good even after that 7500km )..depending on the condition of our driving..If my driving is harsh for that period..usually I will change the engine oil a bit early..say 2/3 of total recommend distance.. For my Mercedes w203, I use fully synthetic Petronas 0W40 EO which can run up to 13000km or 1 year.
