Its been several years now I am driving my Mercedes w203 with cranking difficulty in the engine.  Sometimes it starts at first try..sometimes, it took longer to start the engine. Still, it will crank at the end. This symptom causing me a lot of hassle, and stress... It took me many years to finally manage to really find the root cause of the problem. At one point, I just get used to the problem and live with it. Troubleshoot the Problem: Battery and spark plug has been changed a year ago...I also think fuel filter also is still good because it's just been replaced several years ago...  I suspect it must be a fuel pump or something related to the fuel system. Therefore, decided to purchase a fuel pump and carried out fuel pump replacement work as on this link .  However, after the fuel filter has been changed, the car still showing the problem although the new pump has been installed. So, googling around found one or two people suggesti...

MISTRAL FAN MSF1648: FANS SLOWING DOWN OR NOT TURNING

common issue with the fan rotating slow or difficult to rotate was due to the dust build up inside fan of grease started drying. Or sometimes due to the broken or damage capacitor. 2-3 year sold fan usually have this kind of problem due to the capacitor reaching its end of life. Figure 1: Mistral MSF1649 Stand Fan Troubleshoot: In the Mistral MSF1648 fan case, after several check, it is found that capacitor is damaged (not able to hold enough charge)..Thus lead to slowing down in rotation. Figure 2: After remove back cover, observe the motor and component. Why Capacitor Problem?: Usually, after some period of time, capacitor of the fan might not able to store enough electrical charge anymore in order to fan to rotate at optimum level. So, it is good practice to always have spare capacitor at your home just in case your to replace the capacitor of your fan. Figure 3: Old capacitor valued at 1.5uF 400V Whenever service or cleaning work is carry out,...

MODENAS CT100: SUDDEN DROP IN POWER WHEN AT FULL THROTTLE

Hi semua, Sejak  beberapa hari lepas, motosikal CT100 (Figure 1) mengalami masalah tiba2 drop-in-power. Masalah ni ni berlaku ketika  keadaan full throttle. Apabila dipandu pada kelajuan sederhana sehingga ke 90% pulasan pendikit, kuasa motosikal kebiasaanyya tiada masalah. Hanya ketika full throttle sahaja, kadang2 masalah loss in power ni muncul.

SHARP FAN PJS400: SLOWING DOWN OR NOT ABLE TO TURNING

Common issue with the fan slowing down or working was to the dust and grease started drying. And sometimes due to the damaged capacitor due to its age. Rarely due to the winding damage. Figure 1: Sharp PJS400 fan In the sharp PJS400 fan case, my friend as me to look and fix it for him. Inside Cover of Sharp PJS400? Look what is inside after opening the back cover? Figure 2: Inside the back cover of fan. Too many dust Looks like the fan has not been clean for ages. Why Important to Clean Fan? Dust usually will caused more resistant to the rotation of fan rotor. This is due the dust entering the bearing and mix with grease. Therefore, it is important to have proper maintenance interval or cleaning the blade, front case and back of the fan at regular interval.. Cleaned Fan will have less friction to rotate, less resistance, thus, less energy to rotate and help reduce energy usage...although, it is not as significant. Extra note a...

HP LAPTOP CHARGER ADP-65HB 65W NOT WORKING, WHY AND HOW TO FIX IT?

Hi all, My HP Laptop charger  suddenly not working 2-3 months ago and already managed to buy new charger. But, but, now have time to have look into old charger to troubleshoot the problem and solve it if possible. Symptom of problem with charger: no DC voltage at output dc connector. Checked the main plug fuse, and its ok. So, main problem should inside the black square converter box. In order to fix it (troubleshoot the problem or find the problem), the cover must be open and this is by breaking the black cover. Figure 1: Opening the case for charger figure above show picture after case or cover is open. then we can visually inspect the component inside the charger. Figure 2: Two of broken capacitor Figure above shows internal component of charger. input supply are from left side which will pass through some important component like rectifier, capacitors, inductors and transformer (part of converter and filter). AC supply power are converted to DC supply ...

PROBLEM WITH WATER KETTLE NOT WORKING: SOLVED

Hi, my wife complaint lately about our water kettle not working. this is second kettle having the same problem... I realised that two of my water kettle with new base design having the similar problem, which are its live metal connector, that supply power to the kettle, changing its colour and corroded due to high current flow.  Due to high current flow, live cable seem to be overheat causing some plastic around it melt. Figure 1: first kettle (morphy richard 43904) having issue with its base connector Figure 2: Second kettle from Faber FCK135, also have the issue with its base connector. Figure 3: unscrew the bottow base to access the internal part of base. and most of the time, causing the plastic around the cable melting and ending up open circuit to the kettle which lead to unworking kettle. Figure 4: It was found that life connector and plastic holder around it have been damaged due to overheat. What I did is disassemble the kettle base..and fin...

MODENAS CT100: FUSE NEAR THE BATTERY ALWAYS BLOW. WHY?

Several month ago, i am facing one major problem where fuse for my modenas ct100 keep blowing whenever I replace new fuse. Figure: fuse location is marked with arrow with broken fuse, brake system lighting, signal and horn will not work. plus, the battery will not charge. So, my motocycle operate using magnet coil. So, only headlamp work. Common problem with blowing fuse is due to the short circuit somewhere in the wiring system. So, troubleshooting the problem might take some time and will need to trace all the wiring from battery to every end circuit. refer to electrical wiring diagram shown in the link here: modenas ct100 electrical diagram Figure: troubleshoot the problem require removing all the cover in the end, it was just due to the wiring insulation damage that touch metal body..thus, causing short circuit, which lead to high current passing through the fuse. then blow it. fixing the cable insulation help it. in my case, cable is cut, then, insert...

LG 32LC56 LCD TV: CANNOT SWITCH ON AND HOW TO FIX IT

I remembered purchased this old tv back in year 2007 in Nottingham. Been using this tv since then. But suddenly before end 2016, this tv has stop working. Model of this tv is LG 32LC56 32 inch tv. The problem was, I am not able to turn on this tv. no power at all. Have check the fuse on the plug, the continuity on the cable between plug to the tv also ok. so, the culprit is in the tv..no the cable or supply. One of the common problem with 'no power' problem is due to the power supply board and usually damaged fuse or broken capacitor. So, it is worth looking for this analog / supply board first before throwing it out. In order to fix, one of the important thing that need to be done is to find the problem. Troubleshooting the problem is one of the basic thing that we need to do before repair or fix the appliances. And before we are able to troubleshoot the problem, we need to diassemble the appliance cover or casing, in this case is the TV. Below is sho...
