this iron has been broken since 2013 and been in the storage since.
last week, when I am cleaning and clearing the house, I found this iron, and instead of throwing it out, I try to play around it to see whats inside and if it possible to fix it or not.
checking the main plug show good continuity and the fuse in the plug also working.
tracing the cable into the iron after remove the top cover, it show the present of the voltage when check by voltmeter.
From that point..I measure the voltage reading at the rheostat (to control the heating level) and it shows no voltage. meaning there is some problem in between.
detail measurement of continuity shows that the thermal fuse got broken. at normal condition (room temperature), even without supply, the fuse should show connection on both end. but the one in the picture show open circuit meaning that the thermal fuse broken.
the model of thermal fuse is TF216 B99Y0 250V 10A cutoff thermal fuse. once replaced this thermal fuse..
Tada!!..iron back to normal..so, dont throw away your appliances..check it first.
thanks a lot for reading this.
