hi all
this problem happens several years ago on my Mercedes w203 c180k at 250000+ km and hasn't had time to fix it..
but, several weeks ago managed to find its part on the internet and purchased it. and managed to fix it today.
PROBLEM AND SYMPTOM
no effect at all on the engine and performance.
but, it will give clicking sound and noise when shifting the gear.

WORK PROCEDURE AND SAFETY
1) park the car safely on a level surface
2) secure both rear wheel
3) jack the front of the car and put the stand under the car on both sides.
*when working under the car. please make sure your safety
4) under the car, get access to the gear level just beside the transmission box on the passenger side.
observe the connection joint. can be seen that rubber gasket missing which needs replacement.
5) release the joint lock (refer to the picture) and remove the gear level joint from the hole
6) insert the gear lever rubber into the hole. do it carefully as the space is quite tight.
7) rejoint back the lever into a rubber hole.
8) insert the lock. use the screwdriver to release the locking mechanism in order to easily insert the lock back to gear lever joint
