hi all, Good morning,
my belling cooker igniter has not working since a year ago because of tiny little creature called 'rat' bite and damage all of my cooker wiring harness that connected to igniter. That nasty animal are gone for good already after we put rat poison at the back.
But, the problem with cooker still unsolved, So I took some time to study the cooker problem, understand the wiring connection and try to find solution.

One of the easiest solution are to buy to new wiring harness and replace. Unfortunately, in my case I am not able to, because all part are in UK, while I am in Malaysia.
So, I need to find other way, which is replace with other suitable cable to make my cooker igniter working again.

Before fixing the wiring, we need to do the disassembly of the cooker to have access under the top cover.
Provided in here step by step which hopefully help other with the similar problem.

1) remove these two clip on both side of the cooker
Figure 3: remove plastic clip |
2) unscrew the side cover. front side screw might be a bit difficult to access because of grill door. so, the best way is to remove grill door first. then you can easily unscrew the side cover after that.

3) Pull out all the knobs.

4) Remove the plastic casing by prying it out. then you can unscrew and remove the front panel. the screw for front panel located at each side and have two screw each side.

carefully remove the front panel, take note of the cable for both clock connection and igniter button connection then pull out the cable from socket and remove the front panel.
5) Then, remove two screw as on the picture in order to be able to slide out the metal holder that lock the top cover.

6) then, once top cover is removed, the process of fixing the wiring damage are started and took me 2 hours to replace and re-solder the wiring. the only problem was to trace back all the connection to make sure right wiring connection are correct. I will provide the wiring connection for igniter in the next article.

to assemble back the cooker, follow the guide in reverse order.
